Why Shopify Merchants Overpay for Marketing
You pay for every visit, then show a thank you page at the one moment the shopper is ready to buy again. Here is what that empty screen costs you.

@ismaylouleYou already paid to get them there
Every order on your store is paid for twice. Once by the shopper at checkout, and once by you, in ads, SEO, content and the hours behind all of it. That spend buys one thing: a person on your product page with a card in their hand.
By the time the payment goes through, the expensive part is done. It is also the part where most stores stop.
The moment that costs nothing
The seconds right after a shopper pays are the only point in the order where the decision is already made, the payment details are already in, and the shopper is still on your site. There is nothing left to convince them of and no trust left to earn.
What sits in that space on most stores is a thank you page. It never shows up on an invoice, so it never looks like overspending. It is still the most expensive empty screen in the store.
Most upsell apps spend it badly
Installing an upsell app does not fix this on its own, because of what many of them do with the moment. They send the shopper into a second checkout. A new cart, payment details typed in again, a separate order to fulfill, and a separate order to refund if the shopper changes their mind.
Every one of those steps is somewhere to stop. You paid to get that shopper through checkout once, and then you ask for the hardest part of it a second time, for something they were not planning to buy. A lot of them will not do it twice.
What the moment looks like when it is used
xPostio puts the offer on Shopify’s own post-purchase page, the screen that comes up right after payment and before the thank you page. The shopper sees the offer, accepts with one click, and the items are added to the order they already paid for, charged to the same card. No second checkout and no card details again. One order instead of two.
You decide how the offer behaves. There are four discount types: percentage, fixed amount, Buy X Get Y, and free shipping. On the Free plan you have percentage; the other three are on Growth and Pro. You set Max Products in Offer to decide how many products an offer can show, up to your plan’s limit of 1 on Free, 3 on Growth and 10 on Pro. On Growth and Pro you can turn on a time-based discount so the shopper sees a countdown on the page, and add targeting rules on cart value, quantity and inventory to decide which orders see the offer at all.
You do not maintain a list of which product to offer after which purchase. xPostio compares what the shopper just bought against your catalog and shows the closest matches, up to the number you set. Buy X Get Y is the one type where you also choose the gift products yourself, because a gift is a specific decision rather than a match.
The bottom line
None of this lowers your ad bill. It changes what each of those visits is worth after you have already paid for it. There are three plans: Free at $0, Growth at $19 and Pro at $49, every 30 days, billed by Shopify on your Shopify bill, with nothing charged until you approve it.
Install xPostio on Shopify and stop leaving the best moment of the order empty.
